Methodology
01Why GitHub Copilot has no total. Copilot bills on two undisclosed meters: AI Credits (rate depends on input/output tokens and a model that isn't published) and GitHub Actions minutes (private repos only). With no published per-review rate, any total we computed would be a fabricated number, not a modeled one — so we show only the seat floor plus each live meter, and exclude it from ranking rather than let its floor stand in for its bill.
02Cost only, not value. $15–25 buys 20 minutes of multi-agent analysis with a verification pass. Whether that finds proportionally more real bugs than a $1.25 run is a value question this calculator does not answer.
03Seat allocation. Copilot, Codex, and Gemini seats buy a full coding assistant, not just a reviewer — a team that already owns one sees review as near-free at the margin. Use the "count assistant seat in cost" toggle to see both views.
04Preview pricing is unstable. Gemini's $0 marginal cost is a launch posture, not a permanent model — its individual free tier already ended 18 Jun 2026.
05Bugbot's rollout is staged. Usage pricing applies at each customer's first renewal after 8 Jun 2026 — annual subscribers may still sit on $40 seats into 2027.
06Verified 19 Aug 2026. Three of five vendors changed billing model between April and June 2026 — treat every figure here as perishable, which is why every rate is editable.
